The Franklin Dresser emulates both rustic charm and modern sensibility, made from solid Louisiana Old Growth cypress and Mississippi Delta ash wood, designed with a clean-lined approach. Shown with a black hardwood frame, the outer shell finishes contrast the beautiful patina of the smooth gliding cypress drawers - which once belonged to an 1850s shotgun home in New Orleans that was flooded and then torn down in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The cypress finds a new home in the Franklin Dresser, which Doorman has preserved by keeping its natural water stains, saw marks and nail holes. The piece features industrial, iron pulls, also handcrafted in Doorman’s New Orleans workshop.
Handmade to order, each piece is available in 5-drawer, 6-drawer or 10-drawer sizes.
