This Earth Day, we are celebrating conscious design with taking you behind the scenes of our new collection. Much of this collection was born out of the desire to repurpose pieces of wood that would have previously been thrown away and turn towards healthier materials.
The result is a collection which is a curated blend of comfort, playfulness, and purpose.
We focused on using low-waste methods, responsible materials, and thoughtful design choices to keep sustainability at the forefront without compromising on form or function.
Marengo Bed
Our Marengo Bed is crafted from cut-offs that would have previously gone in the dumpster. Many of these pieces have details that highlight marks that are intrinsic to walnut like rippling around natural knots, beautifully variegated planks, and juxtaposition with sap wood.
The result is a jig-sawed headboard that highlights all of our favorite parts of walnut. Paired with clean, rolled edges, each one is slightly different bringing a bespoke quality to this bed.
This piece is a great example of using what you have on hand to make something fun and truly unique. The materials make this piece special.
The natural knots and variations of the scrap walnut are highlighted in the Marengo Bed.
Previously discarded pieces of wood are cut out into distinctive shapes on our CNC machine.
